The official letter has recently arrived, informing me that I will be a Visiting Fellow at the University of Pisa between September and October 2024. This study period will serve for a book project I am working on, which in a way takes me back to the excavations in Alberese and to a late Roman poet-senator.

I had the opportunity to visit the University of Pisa in October when I was kindly invited as a keynote speaker for a conference of graduate students; it was a beautiful experience where one could perceive the excellence of the institution blended with a city that has managed to reinvent itself and thrive.

Moreover, in Pisa, I will be able to reconnect with dear friends and colleagues with whom I shared years of study in Siena and conferences organized through the MediTo initiative (Mediterraneo Toscano). It will certainly be a fruitful period to explore new trends and research.
